Our school’s Workforce Plan calls for staff to be committed to improving student outcomes for all students, to cross-age grouping and flexible student movements.  Staff are highly skilled and committed to the New Basics curriculum.  Flat management structures enable staff to enact needs based resourcing to achieve priorities.  Good levels of connectivity and accessibility promote optimum use of technology for both teaching and learning and data management.

 

 

A whole school focus exists on a curriculum for the future, firmly based on productive pedagogies, literacy and technology competencies for teaching and learning.  All staff have been regularly engaged in professional development around these areas.  Staff learning and development over the past 4 years have involved more than 10% of the whole school budget.

 

 

Our support staff are also highly competent, attending regular training and development opportunities. The majority of teacher aides have undertaken studies to achieve Certificate 3 in Education Support or equivalent.

 

 

Since the school opened, transfers out of the school have been minimal and usually for family reasons.  However, the number of new teachers each year has been relatively high due to increasing student enrolments.

 

 

Our staff generally work in teams of four teaching members and some ancillary personnel. These self-managing teams are called pods and have been created to support cross-age groupings through the use of vertical and horizontal curriculum structures.

 

Staff School Opinion Surveys show satisfaction for the past 3 years levels at or above the state and like schools benchmarks in Support Resource and Training, Work Value and Recognition and Staff Morale.

 

 

The school administration team includes the principal and three deputy principals.  The role of these administrators reflects the specific management structure of the school with some traditional responsibilities of these positions shared across the range of staff so that decision-making and accountability rest as close as possible to the classroom situation.
